For my thing today, I FINALLY learned how to upload a photo, thanks to help from Kiki!!!!! Not sure what kind of tree this is, but she lives in Trexler Park. She has a large burl protruding from her trunk and in the spring is surrounded by daffodils and then red and yellow tulips. Because of her appearing to be great with child, and because of her garden of flower children, a friend and I dubbed her the Fertility Goddess Tree. For me she is a very feel-good thing!

I put these seeds in a ziploc bag in a warm place about a week ago. And today they are finally big enough to plant. So, I’ve made these makeshift greenhouses to try and keep them warm (its pretty chilly in our house).

On the way back into the house tonight I looked up in our giant tree (I call it giant only because when THAT MANY leaves fall from one tree it is the biggest tree in the world). The spindly ends of the branches were lit from below in this great way and I thought–my digital camera is amazing–even if I never learned to use it properly–and I bet something will show up. So I took some pictures, and of course they turned out all crazy. But there is something about them that I still like.

Then again, maybe I am just trying too hard to like the unlikeable.

Drawn at Pinnacles National Monument on 02/05/08, this also comes late (my tent didn’t have a scanner).
Beautiful park. Don’t necessarily recommend camping there in February though. (>29F…brrrr)
