A surprise party for my friend James Madison. It’s not really her birthday - it’s the eponymous president’s birthday… you can almost never really surprise someone on their own birthday. This party was called “Thanks, I got it from James!” because she is an amazing seamstress and a talented coolthing finder and over the years she has given everyone in our community so much awesome clothes that it’s gotten to be a tagline. So the party was just to acknowledge, celebrate and give back. The present was 1000 little taggys that say “Thanks, I got it from James!” that she can sew into stuff that she makes or gives away. Yay James! Yay my beautiful friends! Yay subscribers! Yay whoever posts a video response of a surprise going off!
I really enjoyed Thing-A-Day. It kept me from realizing it was cold and wintery outside and got me rolling creatively once again after feeling a little burnt out the past couple of seasons. Thing-A-Day reminded me to do something little everyday for myself, even if it doesn’t seem that important.
Although I didn’t post it, yesterday I continued knitting my never-ending scarf and also thought about some long term goals. I plan to keep creatively posting on my own blog here. Although probably every two or three days as I feel posting everyday would lead to repetitive content as I work on my lengthier projects. I guess we’ll see how it goes. I still plan to do something everyday especially when spring kicks in here and my energy levels come back up. (Sometimes I’m convinced I photosynthesize at least some of my energy. Winter has been dragging here thus I’ve been dragging too these past couple of weeks.)
I want to thank everyone for sharing their creativity with me! This has been really inspirational and fun 29 days! I hope to see everyone again next year! Peace out!
I made this “Thanks for the add” MySpace graphic for my bestest friend. She’s a school counselor and sponsors a high school chapter of PeaceJam. I’m not totally sure what PeaceJam is (too ADHD to read whole website), but I sure do wish they’d had a chapter at the shitty redneck high school I went to. I’m sure if she’s in charge of it, it’s freaking awesome.
She has recently created a MySpace profile for her chapter here.
So, Thing-A-Dayers, if you’re on MySpace, go add them, and you’ll get one of these posted on your very own MySpace profile:
You know you want one!
Now, more about that friend. She signed up for Thing-A-Day, and hasn’t posted a thing since, like, day 3. So everyone click here and go bug her and tell her she needs to post because T-A-D isn’t as fun without her!
