this is my old hat. as my mood is a little down the cellar, I decided to make it a little sunnier with wearing a funky sun hat!

I took a class this weekend on how to make a solar car for the Junior Solar Sprint! It is basically the new soapbox derby race and teams of students work together to make solar cars and then race them against each other. I’m a teacher for the project, so I got to spend a day trying out the ideas, concepts and exacto knives! This is what I came up with with my partner.
These are the gears and motor. I learned about gear ratios. I learned that I dont’ know how they work. But I will!
I don’t know about everywhere else, but it is 70 degrees and sunny in California.
Same technique as the faux scrimshaw - ivory colored sculpey flattened and a rubber stamp used to emboss it. I’m not sure I like the paint used to fill in the lines this time:
