thing a day 13

Got a lot to do today and I’m tired so I just made a quick pair of earrings to go with a necklace for sale in my etsy shop (rubyzu.etsy.com).

Day 13

earrings.JPGOK so for today I made a couple pair of earrings, am working on another pair of socks but they are not finished yet. Will save those for another day. Wanted a couple pair of cute earrings to wear out so I made them. The first is made from swarovski crystals, the second is from polished rock and quartz beads. Love both pair, now to decide which ones to wear today. Maybe one of each. Taking a clear picture of jewelry is difficult, LOL.earrings2.JPG

A ring and a fabric flower necklace…

Would you believe it…the baby has taken a decently long nap today.  I was able to make two things and now I’m eating my lunch in peace!

Can we do this every day, baby?

Sweet Plums

Here is the mother load of stitch markers. My normal number that I make is 5 but these were the last of the beads so I used them all and made 8 stitch markers. These will be great for those that are big spenders and want more than 5. I love these beads and it’s sad to see them go.

Day 4: Not what I thought

This is beadweaving around a little piece of agate. The stone is about 1.25″ long. I kinda like where this is going, although I want to get it to a point where it looks more organic rather than “strips of beads holding a stone.” It’s gettin’ there.

Getting it to this point was a nightmare, however. I could not think of an easy way to secure the base to get started. I used some pieces of scotch tape, which was OK, not great. I have a really cool idea about adapting this to another object, but if I can’t come up with a better method for starting the piece, I’ll go insane before I get anywhere with it.

Suggestions welcome!

Fresh Mint Stitch Markers

Fresh Mint Stitch Markers

Today I made a set of 6 stitch markers. I make these for my etsy store Pedras. I’ve been slacking on making stitch markers. Partially because I feel I have so many in more store and no money to buy new beads. I’m not a fan of repeating beads. When I relist items in my store they don’t get as many views as when I first listed them. They do get moved to the front of my store and get more views. Everyone might not go to page 3 and see what is there. These were made with 4mm stone beads and opaque green faceted glass teardrop beads. It’s going to be a struggle to create one things a day. There are so many projects I am doing that are in process but do not take a day to complete. Like knitting, beadweaving, and sewing. Just got to push myself.
