Apocalypse Stencil - Thing 21

This image comes from the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Durer). It was conceived to be a 4 color separation using 4 stencils. Well it turned out that i only had silver and bronze spray paint when i went to view my handiwork, so the effect is rather… odd… anyway, i think it holds some promise, for when i have some other colors and with a little refinement. i’d been working on the stencils over a few days, and was excited to make my proof today… alas, it was not as exciting as it could have been with more colors.

Thing 10: A Freezer Paper Stencil Heart

Freezer paper is a great quilter’s secret. You can cut out shapes from it and iron them onto fabric, where they will stick temporarily. This is a handy way to create a stencil for fabric painting. I made a heart stencil for Valentine’s Day and used a rubber stamp ink pad that works on fabric.

Laser Cut Sticker. Day 7. Phew.

Laser Cut Sticker
A Laser Cut Sticker
The Original Image

My internet spazzed out again last night for the second time, so I apologize again for the delay.

Any which way, I made some laser cut stickers. They didn’t come out as well as I hoped they would. I made them too small and the lines were too thin.

What I learned:
- They need to be bigger.
- They need to have thicker lines.
- With that said, thin lines make them a real pain to remove.
- Having negative space within the sticker didn’t turn out to be as big of a problem as I anticipated.

Day 5 - Dragon

Today I didn’t quite finish my thing, though you can get a sense of it. Maybe tomorrow i’ll work on it some more. It’s a dragon in Chinese style, made with an Exacto and paper, all shapes cut out like a stencil.

Correspondence Theme Suspended: Superbowl Shirt!

I was focusing on correspondence as a theme but I am a football fan and a New Yorker. Every year I make a quick n’ dirty Superbowl t-shirt, but this year it was very important to do so. I quickly created a stencil using the stencil font on my computer, a manila folder, and an exacto knife. I then used a sponge brush and blue silk screening ink to stipple. It is now drying.

Isn’t she lovely?

Whoops, well I guess I missed the very first day - what a start!
Yet, a start that is quite illustrative of my character.
Don’t mind me, while I flounder along behind the punctual artists. I’m doing my best!

Here is my first project. It smells deliciously of grape.

Well, Here’s something for the street artists.

Jewish Ti Fighter

This is a little stencil I created on Photoshop in about 20 minutes. This isn’t exactly the cleanest stencil, but it’s a pretty interesting one. I got the idea from then new Futurama movie, “Bender’s Big Score.” This was the Hanukkah Zombie’s Ti Fighter.
