Last post! Unfortunately…. don’t remember what some things are/don’t have pictures for past things. Maybe later, afterwards. Cutting it close!
Think I left off at the twenty-fourth…? So:

So it’s the last thing-a-day and I’m in pittsburgh!
Not sure if I was going to have computer access or
not, but thanks to my friend Preslav I am able
to post. Here’s just a silly little sketch I did before
dinner. It’s been a really wonderful experience creating
something each day and sharing with so many great
creative people!

Here’s the latest.
Monday I watched an art video called Works by Women: From the Heart. It was from 1982 and featured nine women artists and it was awesome.
Tuesday I made an abstract graphite drawing.

Yesterday I read a section of The Artist’s Way. I think I’m going to start the course March 1.
And today I went to the art museum to see an exhibit called The Dancer, with works by Degas, Forain and Toulouse-Lautrec. Photography wasn’t allowed inside the museum, so here’s a picture of one of the banners hanging on the building.

That statue was my favorite piece in the exhibit. It’s a Degas called Little Fourteen-Year-Old Dancer and it is bronze with a real tutu and hair ribbon. Apparently the original scandalized the Impressionist art world in Paris because it was so realistically detailed and the subject was a bit risque.

Barring any unforseen problems, this sketch will become a watercolor by tomorrow.

Thought I’d make a little sketch of some
of the items that were on my to do list for today.
(the exception is the sushi dinner — that was a
lovely spontaneous outing — thanks Judy!!)

Day 22 Thing: More doodling in the paperback. This time with rough, spirally circles which I actually expanded upon by using them in my …
Day 23 Thing: A very rough, preliminary idea of what my business cards could look like. I am struggling to find something I can repurpose/reuse for cards (and will probably just go for professionally printed instead). But in the meantime I found a previously-painted section of watercolor paper that I then sketched over…

I would like to go for a unique shape/size such as this square version, and may go back to punched holes rather than circles…

Two sketches today, in a feeble attempt to make up for the days I’ve missed. The first is of my friend Angie and I (I’m on the right) and the second of my friend Alyssa. I’d link the references, but I’m pretty sure they’re not on the internet.

Student indifference and teacher concern. What could the problem possibly be I wonder? I dunno.

I am liking this post-every-few-days thing that I have going. Probably cheating, so don’t tell on me.
Day 20 Thing: more paperback sketching. This time with straight, varying lines.
Day 21 Thing: A quick store tote in a cheesy (but cheery) 70s/80s bedsheet. And since it is so thin I can roll it up quite small and always have it on hand for the checkout line.

I drew these from photographs, for an illustration I’m making for my job. It’s for a story about the other kind of WASPs—white Anglo-Saxon Protestants. I’d never tried to draw a real bug before (though I did draw a finger puppet and a pin two years ago); they’re, um, complicated.
Update: Here’s the final illustration—
