Day 21: Serger Table

I finished my serger table today.  Nothing spectacular, just a tabletop supported by four milk crates.  I sanded and stained the tabletop.  I hand-sanded it for two days, and on the third day, I gave up and borrowed a belt sander.  I think I’m going to put a polyurethane finish on it so it matches the other sewing table, this one is kind of dull in comparison.  But I’m really just glad to have a proper table for my machines so I can get to sewing!

feb 11: hemmed Ikea curtains

I was well enough today to hem my Ikea curtains for the new room they’re in:

Of course, the sewing machine had to act up. I couldn’t go more than 5cm without the thread breaking (and I played with the tension settings a lot to try and fix it…) So doozer suggested hand-powering, via the belt, a waist mounted pulley, and his hands:
