Nothing spectacular for the last day of Thing-a-day. I made a vintage rose Morsbag for a forum tag and will have quite a few more Morsbags to sew within the next month.
Congrats to those of you who made a thing a day everyday this month! I am certainly envious! Thing-a-day was certainly flowing with creativity and inspiration
Hope to keep up with everyone next time!

today i practiced some more in photoshop… first i tried the gold tutorial that i tried earlier this month on a photo that i took last week. the gold doesn’t look so much like gold, but the matte edge looks better than my first golden egg attempt. also, i think i like the original photo better, but that’s ok…
* i have edited the gold look from earlier today based on feedback and the fact that i didn’t like what i made earlier… i think it definitely works better but still doesn’t look quite gold-like…

Mini Sculpey™ donuts w/ icing!!

They’re for you, TAD peeps. yep. You know who you are.
Sculpey™ toast gets crust paint.

Old Man Bicentennial quarter is in there for reference. (Old Man reference dime is in the wall forever (see yesterday’s TAD post)).
Sculpey™ travel box

I had a great pink left over from the donuts and so I painted my Sculpey™ travel box. I made an ugly green for the other side. ha. Oh hey … there’s Old Man Bicentennial quarter for size ref. Peace out! -jhj

Spent today having a mother and daughter day - shopping, haircut, lunch out, running errands. I was supposed to work all day, but that was absolutely a better way to spend the day! I did manage to squeeze these in. LOVE THEM!
Ready for Spring???

What I was planning on doing tonight: watching the lunar eclipse and then driving to buy some craft supplies. Unfortunately it was super cloudy all night where I live; couldn’t see the eclipse at all! And I had to take my car in for a service this morning so I spent most of the night getting to know my new pink Asus Eee PC:

I got this little micro laptop as a Valentine’s gift and boy am I in love with it. It weighs two pounds, has a seven inch screen, is sturdy and reliable and is just the perfect thing for me to take out to the neighborhood coffee shop to check email and work on my poetry. I’m slowly making my way through the Eee Users Wiki and I can’t wait to really settle in with it.

A few more little sweet beads!

I had a very busy day, so the best I can do for having made something was that I made someone happy.

Something soft for Valentine’s day. These dyed quartz resemble bubblegum

A Valentine card for Daddy. A collaborative project between Huck (age 17-months) and myself.

Not much to say about this except that the resemblance was rendered masterfully.

Some vanilla scented donut beads just in time for Valentines. They are about 11mm across. I made the tiny sprinkles first, baked those and then set them on my little donuts and homeade (plastic) pink icing.

And the little sweets:

My school’s choir does “Singing Valentines” every year - students buy grams for their valentines or just their friends and write their class schedule on the card. The choir splits into 2 groups of girls and 2 groups of guys, and we find them in their classes and shower them with obnoxious affection in the form of song and dance while wearing ridiculously pink outfits. Oh, high school.
My group of 8 girls’ outfits consist of pink and red plaid pajama bottoms and white wifebeaters with candy hearts with different phrases (QT 3.14 might be the most creative, ever) ironed onto the front. The back has the name of the singer and the year. I ribbon-ed the shirt/pants up and made tags with washing instructions. (I should probably be doing my homework, haha).

Here is the mother load of stitch markers. My normal number that I make is 5 but these were the last of the beads so I used them all and made 8 stitch markers. These will be great for those that are big spenders and want more than 5. I love these beads and it’s sad to see them go.
