I put together a slideshow on my blog after figuring out how to use my new remote. Here’s the slideshow - http://carolbrowne.com/index.php?itemid=1932

That’s all I’ve got for the month. I had a few other crafty things planned, but didn’t get to them. Also, I’m so focussed on photography these days, my posts were mainly about that. I am going to get paid for photography some day, I just know it.

When I moved to Seattle from Minneapolis 3 years ago, I dreamed about having a nice back yard that I could “live in” virtually year round. In the upper midwest it’s too cold in the winter and in the summer the mosquitos are the size of small birds, so that’s out, too. So, when I inherited some money a couple of years ago I used it to give myself my a nice back yard. I absolutely love it.
Today was 60 and sunny in Seattle, and I was off of work for President’s Day. So, I went outside and did a little photo tribute.

Well, I had vowed to never miss a day again, but over the weekend we went on a spontaneous trip… and that went out the window. (And though I wish I were, I’m not the kind of creative person who can make an impromptu portrait out of sugar packets or something like that.) So I almost threw in the towel… but then I realized, I did take bunch of photos over the weekend, and that counts, right? So here are a few of my favorite photos from the weekend.

Whole set here
I’ll be back later with something made today. Tootles!

I live in Cupertino, California - a relatively small city in the Bay Area about an hour away from San Francisco. Nothing very exciting happens here, but it is nice anyway.

This was a picture that was altered by adding saturation and a few other things. Some of my photos have been long in waiting for attention. Glad for the opportunity.
This was artwork that I received yesterday in the mail from my grandbaby (four years old) but didn’t get a chance to post till today.

Quick Grey Heron from an old national geographic I found in the dentist’s waiting room:
after I broke out from dentist I had about an hour and a half to kill in the east bay. So, naturally, I decided to wander along the railroad tracks with a camera in a dishevelled little town called Fruitvale. I got some exercise, a busted knee and some seriously amateur photos to show for it:

So today I spent a while taking pictures of this thing I made and mucking with the color balance in Photoshop. At this point the digital image looks something like the way it looks in real life.

“Because I miss her, here is a photo of her that I played with a bit. It is my creativity for the day. (Doesn’t she just have the cutest eyebrows?)”

Shoot it Again to me means “how many times will I have to take this picture before I get a clear one?” Moi’s got mad camera shake.

My daily thing inspiration today came from the book, “Caffeine for the Creative Mind”. I was prompted to take 10 digital photos of things that weren’t where they should be. Luckily, picking the stuff up and putting it all in place was not part of the exercise. Since my 10 photos take up a lot of space, they will be posted at my blog:
http://www.blogspot.com/mistressgirly which is also linked on my profile.
The ‘thing’ this did for me creatively was show me how much time I spend looking for out of place items when I could be creating more if it were organized. Tomorrow, I hope to actually MAKE something instead of just digital photos.
