Another glass pendant with matching earrings. I should have taken a photo from another angle, because the piece I used is slag glass and it looks almost like malachite. Faith and begorra! Wouldn’t that be a fine thing to be wearin’ on St. Paddy’s Day?

I started a memory wire bracelet yesterday. These things are so darned hard to photograph. (If you want to see what a finished one looks like, go back to my second post.) I string a base course of crow or tile beads onto the memory wire and then bead over top of that.

I’ve been making these just for fun, with no intent to put them in my Etsy store.
They’re totally addicting though! So I’ve been wearing a different one every day this week!

That’s right! You get two days for the price of one today! I had too much fun last night (yakitori dinner, Press Your Luck & the American Gladiators season finale) to post so here now is the very simple ring I made out of some leftover buttons:

And also the pendants I worked on tonight:

I used pink sakura printed origami paper for one and a drawing from an Adrian Tomine notebook for the other. Tomine is one of my favorite comic artists so I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out. In the next few days I’ll probably put more layers of acrylic sealer on them to make sure they can last me a long time.

I finished the other earring, and Photobucket is cooperating, so here’s the complete set. I made the pendant earlier (see previous posts.)
The first earring broke the 1-hour-max rule, but the second earring went so quickly that I think the average fits in the time frame. The first earring always takes me forever, because I’m designing as I go, and I do a fair amount of experimentation. The second earring, even though I have to produce the mirror image of the first, takes far less time. I’ve gotten so much better at reversing the design since when I started!

Would you believe it…the baby has taken a decently long nap today. I was able to make two things and now I’m eating my lunch in peace!
Can we do this every day, baby?

This one is better than my other one varnish-wise, but I don’t like the design as much. I should have made the river (yes, that’s a river, lol) with darker fabric.

So I was going to finish the Rachmaninoff piece, but instead I had the urge to make this.

It’s an ametrine; ametrine’s pretty rare, as far as gems go, because there’s only one mine in all the world (that’s been discovered) where you can get it. It’s actually made up of both amythest and citrine. Because they’re sort of marbled together, no two pieces are alike. It’s supposed to have certain metaphysical properties too, if you’re into that sort of thing.
I made it for a friend, along with customizing a little jewelry box, and I’m making a note for it later, too. But all of that’s a bit personal to share; you guys just get the pendant. I’m quite proud of it, as I’m new to this whole wire-wrapping thing; I usually just make chain.

Two new pieces I finished this morning: These pendants came to me as a way to combine my different areas of interest, and is part of a larger collection of fiber based jewelry. I spun the fibers and knit to make these pendants. My vision for these pendants is a simple and basic design that will exhibit the the subtle variations of color and detail of materials.
