olive loaf

mmmmm, olive loaf. one of my favorite breads. as always, the recipe can be found in the bread bible. That’s where all my recipes have come from.

The biga is the start. A small amount of the ingredients to get the yeast going. The finish, the loaf hot out of the oven and on the cooling rack.

this is kinda lame, but i’m sick today… and the only energy i could muster was to knit another olive:

i have 4 right now, so i’m well on my way to making a jarful

jarful of olives

today i knit an olive:

i got the idea from dorklandia who got the idea from here. i think it’s the cutest, and i want to make a jarful… i followed the pattern pretty closely except that my needles were bigger (sz 5). i also didn’t have exact olive colors, but i think it conveys the idea well enough… (note: if you decide to make this, there is an second line that says ‘cast on 6 stitches’ after you have knit the first round, but this is wrong—don’t do that.)

oops, it’s february!

Here is a little crocheted olive, based on the knitted olives from

cut-out-and-keep. It’s a little lumpy, but it still cracked up my husband.
