so i hastily slapped a coat of paint on Mr. Step
painting models is not really my thing and i really wanted to get this thing over with so i could move on.

first some black rubbed in to the texture of his skin

look at them choppers

i took the 3-d file from yesterdays thing and sent it to the 3-d printer

this is the first pass and the birth of guttstep

about 14 hours later

hour 15, guttstep is born, but “vy am i drippings wis goo?”

we send him to the shower to alleviate the funk

AHHH SO REFRESHING

not so fast, time for a bath in sodium hydroxide

IT’S ALIVE

AHHHHHHH RUN, IT’S A GIANT CAT!!!

Guttstep for tomorrow?
this was inspired by my weak efforts on thing 2

I took a look at the drawing from day 2 and began to imagine the rough form in solidworks.
after i had the basic volume i imported my model in to a program called sensable freeform modeling plus and used a haptic interface to refine the shape and eventually add texture .
below are the progress images:

Guttstep took me just over an hour to complete, i have big plans for tomorrow.
I got a late start today, but I had some glitter lying around and some tiny little canvases. I think he looks like a cross between Bigfoot and an alien. I had to move the image to my blog.
