Grasping at straws to stay in the thing-a-day game, I have to submit this blog post that I wrote to my mom thanking her for the Valentine with the rat on it. A quick, ad-libbed portrait of my family, rendered in black Sharpie for the amusement and distraction of a whiny, crabby, tired two-year-old. I was attempting to juggle the oranges when Lisa suggested I draw faces on them. Three is the magic number, so…
The kid orange looks nothing at all like Tenzin, but mine is pretty accurate. Mom’s is recognizable, I suppose.
I work 2 days on my jewelry and the other days I stay home with my 3-year-old.
Today is one of the stay-at-home days. And it’s raining. It’s really hard to find new things to do with him, but when we got a 3 boxes of groceries delivered I knew just what we’d do.
I allowed myself fifteen minutes of conversation with my Mom. She is awesome! Usually, I am so tired by the time I get home that I barely have a capacity to speak. Yesterday was different! And I intend to keep it daily. Have a feeling that it could invite many positive changes into my life. I often think that people no longer communicate with one another because of a simple neglect of telling loved one about their day. As simple as that!
