I saw these tiny terra cotta pots (they’re a tad bigger than a thimble) and thought they were cute. Today I made them into a mobile, using twine, an embroidery hoop, wooden beads, and some satin ribbon.

Day 4: Photography Mobile
I decided to do something with my stacks of darkroom remnants - those prints that for whatever reason were slightly flawed and unusable. So I cut up and folded the photos into cubes, strung them on fishing wire, and behold- a mobile. Usually photo handling is so finicky lest you get a speck of dust or a smudge somewhere, so this was very satisfying - I rubbed my grubby little fingers all over this project. And maybe this little mobile will age with yellowed fingerprints, but isn’t that more interesting than having a pristine picture sitting inside a vacuum-sealed frame?

Hola everyone,
So since last year (when I utterly failed to participate at all) I’ve relocated to Seattle. I’ll be traveling for most of February; Portland, NYC & the Bay Area, so I’m hoping to settle on a good mobile activity for the month.
My money is on sketches, everything from notebook entries to napkins and bits of paper packaging. I’m thinking of a loose comic style narrative involving darling little robots with hopeless ideas about inventions and machines. Maybe some time travel. But we’ll see…
