Anticlimactic

For a friend. She drew me something that was really nice, so I thought I should return the favor. I’m not gonna attempt to explain further than that.

Learned how to fold a note into a heart today. I might use it as stationery, or something.

Well, it’s the end. I’ve made enough things for 27 days, I think, which isn’t really bad considering my work ethic issues. I can’t wait to participate next year. Maybe I’ll actually do something for all 28 days! But of course, next year my homework load will be worse. We shall see…

It was awesome creating with you guys. See you next year!

Feather Stamp

I am really enjoying carving stamps.  It’s kinda like a mediative activity where I just think about carving.   Today I did a heart feather!

Thing #14: Valentines

Posted a day late so as not to ruin the surprise… I made a valentine for my valentine, including a card and a heart shaped cherry cake. Cherries was actually the theme of the day as maraschino cherries are one of his favorites.

Day 15 - It’s a twofer!

Well, I thought I had totally flaked out yesterday. But then I remembered that I DID throw together a couple more valentine cards for local folks, and I made a super quick birthday card and FINALLY got my mom’s package out. Somehow yesterday went by faster and was more exhausting than it had reason to be. I started to make an official ‘thing’ last night but I just threw in the towel. So I did it this morning and it is my thing today. However, the idea was there last night, hence the Valentine’s Day theme.

It’s a bracelet, and it’s a bit off the beaten path that I usually follow, but I like it. It needs a little tweaking i.e. the heart needs to dangle better, but voila. Here you go.

No picture proof I’m afraid, but I finished up all 50 birthday invitations I was making for a local lady.

And then today, I made heart cookies with my girls.  Lots of fun!

origami box full of felt hearts

origamiheartbox.jpg

not entirely new for me, but I’m low on time today.  I’m getting better with making boxes.  It only took me a few minutes to make the boxes, and the felt hearts were easy to cut out.  Least I did combine paper with felt!  Ideally, I would like to have a hand sewn heart inside, but not enough time.

Day 12 - Trying to work up a little V Day inspiration

Creative energy is low tonight so I figured now would be a good time to get busy trying out my ideas for the hubby’s VDay card.  This is most of picture one.  There are a few other layers not present here but in case I use this one I don’t want him seeing it all.  I’m not sure if I like the effect I put on the roses.  Doesn’t really scream warm fuzzy thoughts.  Tell me what you think.  Cool or freaky?

Robotic Love gift card holder

Is it okay to be boring sometimes?

roboticlove.jpg

Today I had planned to do a paper collage, but I couldn’t get the inspiration for it.  Paper just isn’t giving me the love today so I decided to go back to felt for one day and I made another gift card holder instead.

I made the eyes using that french stitch and the eye on the left came out like it’s supposed to look!  I’m real happy about that.  It pays to be persistent and practice!

 No promises for tomorrow.

To make this thing even girlier, I crocheted this while watching a tv adaptation of a Jane Austen novel. How very accomplished.

Thing 10: A Freezer Paper Stencil Heart

Freezer paper is a great quilter’s secret. You can cut out shapes from it and iron them onto fabric, where they will stick temporarily. This is a handy way to create a stencil for fabric painting. I made a heart stencil for Valentine’s Day and used a rubber stamp ink pad that works on fabric.
