I almost wimped out. I thought about letting my final work of the month be this crocheted zipper thing.

Instead, vanity prevailed.

Barring any unforseen problems, this sketch will become a watercolor by tomorrow.

Yup, day late, and definitely a dollar short

I’m trying out some quick
sketching. I was watching the Beatles’ first trip to the US and did four pages of sketches… this is just one.

I tend to give my models very long necks and bodies, almost to the point where they remind me of an alien life form.

At a local bar with waiter on hand and nearby conversations. I was actually sitting on a stool but I think I look better crouched in the corner.

And today…

It would have been even better to have drawn this from life.

Back to drawing. My art teacher says I need to work more on shading &
value. So here’s another attempt. My perspective’s a bit off.

I spent a couple hours at the cafe. I’m very fond of chai and mechanical pencils.

Another one from the backlog. I really drew this on February 2. Honest!

This is my art work for February 1. I swear!

Scanner troubles have kept me from posting my works until now.

This drawing was done with number 2 pencil on the back of used office paper.

Fish eye - since the eyes kept giving me problems I decided to focus
on one of them. I still struggled, and may have over-worked it.

This is the fourth and last from MODA magazine from Spain. The blouse definitely grabbed me on this one. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Another detail of the fish. I set aside yesterday’s drawing since the
eyes were giving me a hard time.

I’m getting the hang of shading & drawing without hard lines… still don’t like graphite much.

The third in a series of sketches from Moda España verano 2006 magazine. I really like the pants she wears. Next week I start sewing again! Not clothes, but that will come in time

This one’s still in progress. Made a viewfinder out of cardboard (no that’s not cheating) to help with the composition. I felt like focusing in on a detail today.

I’ll definitely need more time on this one.

My drawing teacher wants me to bring in this & yesterday’s work (and my college drawings) to her kid’s class for a “Dog & Pony” show as she called it. Guess she thinks I’m doing well, eh?
