I tried out gouache for the first time (I actually thought I was watercoloring)… not that it matters I wouldn’t know what I was doing either way. I’m also going to add that I don’t do anything delicately, nor do I do flowers. I was trying to make a card that grandma would like to say thanks for an awesomely old-timey hardcover cookbook she recently passed on to me. And all she gets in return in a sloppy test run at trying to paint…

Sat down & tore up some paper. Used “Edge” & “Paper” from the Thing A Day Themes.
It’s not quite finished… something’s missing but I need time to think about it.

Another one of those things where I just got out a piece of watercolor paper & my old college gouache* set and just started painting…. I was inspired by a few random pictures I found on the ‘net - see the thumbnails.
Inspiration:
* For those who don’t know, gouache is a type of paint very similar to watercolor, but a little thicker & more opaque.
