I spent a good portion of the day working on reorganizing my daughter’s room. As you have already seen, I rearranged the furniture to make a playspace, I made a giraffe collage for her and framed the silhouette I made. I hung both on her wall. Today, after I reorganized and did some childproofing, I made a felt applique giraffe which I will put on a throw pillow. She seems really taken with giraffes. I drew the image, cut out the shapes, and laid it all out. Then I found my glue gun, but glue sticks were no where to be found. I will have to do the gluing tomorrow.

I surprised myself - I did not know I could draw a friendly giraffe. Who knew?

Things 9 - Giraffe Posse and Mermaid
Saturday was busy and i was out a lot - so i made stuff on the road:
1) A Giraffe Posse sharing a meal in 2D

2) a Mermaid on the sidewalk

Giraffe.
My 8 month old daughter seems to be very taken with giraffes, and really, why not. As I was brainstorming for my theme for the week (correspondence), I stumbled upon some Tanzanian postage I had in my box marked “decoupage/objects.” The stamp depicts Tanzanian giraffes. So I used it to make my daughter a little collage for her nursery. I used paper I had and free handed cutting out the letters. I think it is quite cute. I will frame it in a simple frame and hang it in her room. The picture below is a bit dark - the colors are more vibrant and the border is a deep navy.
I have to say that this time I only spent about 45 minutes (including making the accompanying mess and cleaning it up). I am a lot less frazzled than last night. I must remember to “Keep It Simple, Stupid.”
I also made my voice heard - I voted! Supah-Dupah Tuesday!
