I’ve never lived with cats or mice for that matter, but apparently this is what they look like in my head. The wheel is for speed of course.

This is my friend’s dream from the other night:
<lb> I had two odd dreams last night
<lb> in one, I was inside a huge tall office building, near the top floor. And it became apparent to me that the floor and walls had huge holes in them where you could fall out to your death. Then it became apparent that the part of the building I was in was not even attached — it was under construction…
<lb> … and being held up by a huge construction device that was like a crane, but with two grasping points, like if godzilla picked a building up with his hands on either side… and at those two points, the building was intentionally rotated
<lb> so what was the floor for me could become walls or ceiling if the construction dictated “turn this 7-floor piece of building sideways/upside-down”
And the art it inspired:

I’ve slacked off on posting and gotten more casual about my Things, but I’m still at it. Friday I did this doodle based on some photos of my son wearing various weird things.

I also went swimming that night, which should count as a Thing because it takes so much for me to get motivated.
Saturday I went on a short hike and tested my new camera. Yesterday I took fun photos and did some much-needed organizing.

Now I’m going to put together my new vacuum cleaner. I’m ridiculously excited about this.

Yesterday’s doodle. It’s a thing in a car. A wedge-shaped car, apparently.

I have been drawing a lot of silly doodles the past few days, one of which is posted here.

Yesterday I spent my day working on an installation in Max/Jitter, with a friend, still in progress.
A new development with Sustainable South Bronx and the Fablab is turning my illustrations into prints

I love sharpies. mmmm. They’re colourful enough to disguise my poor drawing skills. Well, it’s only a doodle, not supposed to be the Next Big Turner Prize.

Thing a day 11 - war paint

Photocopied a picture of my face to use in my art journal & used ‘em here. Acrylic paints, gesso & pen on this one. I’m theme-less these past few days, but I suppose I can cheat and use the TAD theme “paper”

Thursday the Seventh: I managed a doodle, with oil pastels (does that sound wrong??). Felt pretty basic, primary school flowers, but I pretty much stopped drawing in primary school, so why should I assume I’ve gotten any better (in my sleep, perhaps?). Anyway, when I look at my effort now, it seems to have become its own entity, and I appreciate its existence.

Friday the Eighth, tonight: I got caught up in the idea of making valentines for a few friends. Specifically, making hearts to sew onto teabags what will be packaged in a mug-shaped card or something, with a note, perhaps. Bit over the top, especially when I never usually do anything for Valentine’s Day, but for one thing, I’m missing my beautiful friends in Australia (already posted them valentine notes listing things I love about them), and also, I’m grateful to my family and new friends here in Canada, for welcoming me into their everyday lives. So yes, Valentines for my girlfriends all round, this year!

During a painfully long Feb. 5th meeting, I drew my left hand on the front page of the agenda thing.

I wanted to do more drawing but didnt have the patience to copy a photo so I decided to just improvise and do some doodles. I really like this and it’s just good practice. Plus it doesnt require much concentration so i can do it while I watch TV
Also, sadly, I don’t own a scanner so I have to take pictures with my digital camera… hence the not so great quality!

I’m behind on posting, but I did doodle yesterday. Here’s a beaver, with a nosy kangaroo trying to get into the frame:

Today I doodled everything in my head.

Okay! The drabble is for yesterday, and the doodle today. Like I said, mon-weds=hell |D
—Drabble; Mine and Jillian’s World of Warcraft Blood Elves—
“I won’t abide seeing my Acolytes as… as… Dancing fools!”
“My deepest apologies sir.” Quel’Fasa bowed deeply. “We shall restrain ourselves in the future.” He nudged his companion, eliciting a jerky bow. “I apologize as well,” Delestus hollowly echoed.
Olyphius frowned. “I’ll be keeping my eye on you two.”
After a stiff, awkward moment, Delestus led Quel’Fasa away to the Wayfarer’s Rest. There, away from all onlookers, they lounged together on a plush couch.
“Can you believe that pathetic fool?” Quel’Fasa drawled as he accepted bloodthistle from Delestus. “He believes himself so noble, and overlord! The very idea is laughable!”
“Patience, my good friend,” hissed Delestus, eyes half-lidded with the drug. “You know as well as I, this is merely a stepping stone.” He ran a single clawed hand through Quel’Fasa’s golden hair. “We will crush him when the time comes.”
Quel’Fasa leaned against his companion, closing his eyes. “Yes. Let him wade in his ignorance for now. He will learn the true destiny of the Quel’Dorei soon enough.”

—Doodle; Inspired by designer sunglasses worn by sorostitutes**—

** I know not all sorority girls are sorostitutes, and not all people that wear that type of sunglasses are that kind of person, but I immediately get a foul impression from a stranger that wears them so proudly. I hate not being able to see someone’s eyes, at least a little bit behind the glasses.

I had a twelve-hour work day today, so my thing took me all of two minutes to make. It’s an Appleworks doodle of my job.

See, I drew this cute little “An Average Monday” comic and then I decided to try to outline it with a fine-point sharpie and I quickly learned that that was a very bad idea, but it was too late. D:
So instead, have a doodle! It’s a bit awful! Just pretend you’re the little fairy sliding down a leaf going “Wheeeee~!” I’ll get back to the February People later in the week, since my Mon-Weds schedules are horrendous. The whole first week will probably just be sitting in chairs in the same image, we’ll see.

My husband and I finally watched the new LOST last night. We are completely hooked on that show, and we’re not just your typical “I’ve seen every episode” fan. We read the forums, listen to the podcasts, spend WAY to much time on Lostpedia.

All that to say, the next few days of Thing-A-Day will be devoted to creating a comic strip of the first episode.
See it bigger here. (Warning: spoilers)
Yes, I know. I’m a nerd.
