Thing 29: Triceratops

So, I finally did the triceratops…

Glad I managed to make it to the end, and I’m going to keep this up a while longer, and do some more dinosaurs for my son. What happens next? Will there be Thing A Day 3?

Thanks everyone, for the inspiration!

Things 22 through 28: Mostly Dinosaurs

Thing 22 was building our family’s snow dinosaurs last Friday:

Things 23 through 28 are more bits of scratch art. Dinosaurs, Mikro’s stuffed penguin, a weird imaginary bird, a memento of the snow dinos and some traced hands. Inspiration was in rather short supply the days I did the handprints, but on the little boy one, I wrote down the things he likes doing with his little hands– tickling, petting the cat, making crafts, holding hands with mama & daddy, etc. Anyway, just one more thing to make tomorrow, and it should be my favorite dinosaur, triceratops, but I’ve been afraid to mess it up, so I’ve avoided it…

A Massive Catch-Up Post: Things 15-21

Woot! We got DSL. Of course, we first had to convince the phone company to turn the phone back on, because they screwed up and canceled the originally attempted FIOS order (wiring not ready in our neighborhood), and canceled our phone! But all is now good, and we finally are off dial up. But I am woefully behind online. Haven’t been able to do anything. Hence the massive catch-up post…

Thing 15: Guan Long, a T-Rex ancestor recently discovered in China:

Thing 16: Plaster casts of animal tracks made (from molds) at the Nature Center:

Thing 17: A rose (from my head, no photo, so not the best…):

Things 18 and 19: T-Rex and Pterodon:

Things 20 and 21: Pachycephalosaurus and Hadrosaur:

Whew! Glad to finally get this posted!

Thing A Day #13: Even More Scratch Board

Could you guess that my almost five year old is suggesting what I draw? And does anyone have an idea how I might go about protecting the surface from accidental kiddo damage? I’d like to put together a little book of the dinosaur scratchies for my son when we’re all done, but I suspect he’d have them unrecognizable in no time…

Feb. 5th.

Here is my thing for today! I’ve been wanting to put little jump rings on these charms I bought, becuase the ring that was on it already was to small for a necklace to fit through. The other thing I did was make a pair of earrings out of vintage pale pink buttons, and they are ADORABLE! I will sell them on etsy so a lucky someone can look extremely cute! ;-)  PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket- tracy

Anatomy of the heart.

Today’s project was to make valentines…also we found these cool anatomy chart things so they rock.

“You’re the Breast”

“1. Skull and Contents”                                               ” You’re in my head.  You’re on my brain.  You’re so far away.”

“I miss you as much as these dinosaurs are dead…very much so.”
