I wrote up a tutorial on how to knit and felt a bowl, and got it published on one of my favorite design blogs, More Ways to Waste Time. Even if you’re a beginning knitter, there are links to a great video site to help you get started. And felting covers up a myriad of mistakes!

This elephant headed figure is my Day 4 creation. the wood is from Philadelphia and he reminds me of Ganesh. Maybe he has magical powers to remove obstacles! He’s only about 2 3/8″ tall. Here’s another shot of him.

On Day 3, I crocheted on a lovely grey scarf I’ve been working on. I am for it to be done sometime this month and will post a picture when its completed! I started a row of double crochet stitch. On Day 4, I wrote some haikus. I don’t know much beyond 5-7-5 structure. No attention to beats. But they were quite therapeutic! I won’t post them all for embarrassment but here are my favorites:
Single conference guest
Conversing with others, fun
Not so with sniffles
Optimistic day
Wide window, view of the world
If I mean it, good
Believe it or not, those and 4 other bad boys took quite a bit of time. I, uh, need practice.
