At last I have made my Indiana Jones pin cushion. I wanted something more interesting than a tomato. I can sharpen my needles in his left leg. The leg is filled with steel wool. I got the original idea from Craft magazine of a Voodoo doll pincushion. http://www.craftzine-digital.com/craft/vol02/?pg=125
But I wanted something that fit my style more and decided on the voodoo doll from Temple of Doom.

so why not post it.
breakfast (eggs, toast, leftover vegetable jumble):

dinner (fried sausage wrapped in pancetta over citrusy pasta and more leftover vegetables):

and I turned this honeydew into a swan with a crooked tail full of melon balls which was pretty magical:

I have been drawing a lot of silly doodles the past few days, one of which is posted here.

Yesterday I spent my day working on an installation in Max/Jitter, with a friend, still in progress.
A new development with Sustainable South Bronx and the Fablab is turning my illustrations into prints

I am not sure if any on else suffers from the same aliment as me when it comes to being creative. But sometimes I am so worried that my item won’t be perfect that I can’t even start! That was me today when it came to doing my first carved eraser project. I just didn’t know what to design and what to do. I started getting really stressed out on what to do and how to do it! I couldn’t start. So what I ended up doing was writing the word and then carving “Simple” to remind me to just go.In California it is 9:40 pm on February 6th!

This elephant headed figure is my Day 4 creation. the wood is from Philadelphia and he reminds me of Ganesh. Maybe he has magical powers to remove obstacles! He’s only about 2 3/8″ tall. Here’s another shot of him.
