i found out about this project only yesterday and signed up immediately. what to do was easy. i take a lot of photos, but i didn’t want this project to be just a rehash of things i’ve alrady done and published online. add to this the fact that i got an iphone a couple weeks ago. it comes with a built-in camera, but i really hadn’t used it. i mean, there’s really no need as i’m usually carrying around a dSLR every where i go.
this is where a happy accident comes into play. see i have this belt-clip case for the iphone and it’s made up clear–but really just semi-opaque–plastic. of course the case covers the camera lens and i didn’t realize this until tried to use the camera one day. i thought it was broken, as the image was distorted and blurry, then i realized that the case was missing the little camera hole that most cases have. that’s when i decided that i loved what it did to images–like having an instant “art” filter–and have been looking for a way to make use of it. then a friend tells me about this project…and here we are.
i hope everyone enjoys these photo experiments.
…and here’s a day one bonus photo as well.
