Day 22: Light box

I made a light box today, following the instructions found on this website:

http://www.strobist.blogspot.com/2006/07/how-to-diy-10-macro-photo-studio.html

And used it to take these pictures of this altoid tin album I made (which also could have counted for my item today!)

photo album for my grandma

Today I finally got around to finishing an overdue birthday present for my grandma (88 years old). The present is a small pink photo album with far too many photos of my kids. I made her a similar photo album last summer and she liked it a lot and still carries it everywhere. Hopefully she will like this one too!

cool and collected

A few weeks ago I embarked on a massive house cleaning project, during which time I collected together all the ticket stubs I could find. Movies, concerts, tourist attractions–there was memorabilia of all sorts. Since then, I’ve been looking for an album in which to store these paper items. I found just the perfect thing while thrift shopping:

organizing

Totally awesome.

Day 13: Vinyl Valentines

I’m playing catch-up, because I forgot to post yesterday, and, even worse, I forgot to take a picture of my daily thing!

I made valentines to send to the folks on my valentine exchange list.

I went to Goodwill and bought old LPs for 25¢ a piece. (I picked ones that had love songs on them.) I ditched the album sleeves, wrote a valentine message related to one of the song titles on the Side 1 label, then made a circular mailing label the same color as the record label and glued it with spray adhesive over the Side 2 label. Took them to the post office and mailed them. Just like that. A record, with postage attached. The post office lady was quite amused.
