what day is this? did i remember yesterday? dang, i’m all over the place. ANYWAY…. here’s today’s perpetual calendar! yay! i really do love this one. i’m into stripes and this color combo a lot lately! it’s in my etsy shop and on my flickr, too! =)

I really used to take Chinese New Year for granted when I was younger. My family would have all manner of activities and festivities to ring in the New Year. It seems like we celebrated for an entire month. Since I moved away from them a few years ago I’ve really started to miss and appreciate all the fun and lively decorations and customs we had. This year I’m trying to do make sure I carry on some of the traditions of Chinese New Year and also make some New Year’s crafts. Since 2008 is the Year of the Rat I designed some mouse paper tonight:
so I could make some very simple paper lanterns with them:
They kind of turned out looking like aliens, but they were fun

a new perpetual calendar - this one is my new favorite. i may have to make one similar to this one for myself when this one sells! =) the colors are perfect for my kitchen.
*and* not only did i finish it today, i also listed it on etsy today! yay for having my act together!! =)
Today in Jersey City it pour rain all day. And the TV was full of those Hallmark Card ads for the upcoming V-Day. So Bernie, popped in my head this evening and here he is:
