Thanks for signing up in such great numbers this year! We’re really exited to see everyone’s work.
Here are a few notes about how to make this thing-a-day work.
Visit this page often for updates on the state of the blog and other practical things.
* Post a comment while you post
*While you’re posting every day, take a minute to post a comment or two on someone else’s work, or pick a person a week and follow their work to give them some insights or perspective. The success of this February adventure is in each one of our hands at this point.
Comments are open now. And we’ll keep improving commenting options as we go.
*Uploading your pictures *Any picture more than 300Kb might get deleted. No need to upload images more than 250Kb and 600 pixels wide. Also, if you can, please host your pictures on Flickr or another photo site if you can or make sure to keep their sizes to the smallest possible — the upload folder is going to get full pretty fast. If you do put them on Flickr, you can also submit them to the thingaday2008group there.
* About the themes
*Each week, mkempner, msantram, steve and missmoun will chose one suggested theme. We will display these themes on the side bar for you to use as inspiration. You don’t have to follow these themes but if you do, make sure to select the corresponding category when you post your daily thing.
* About tags*
Please take a moment to fill out tags when you write a new post. Enter your media or the main theme of your post to make it easier for people to find similar content on the site.
* Expect disaster *
The blog is going to be very crowded so we will keep working on new features and additional fixes as the days go by. Expect however that there will be some failures with the blog. So if something is broken of if the site is down, keep doing your work and please be patient as we try to get things back in order.And remember to back-up your work before you post it online!
* Really need help? *Please make all inquires to info @ thing-a-day (.com)
And by the way, if you’re a super extra Wordpress skilled programmer, and are dying to make a quick fix to something you see here…. drop us a line.
