Go Read My Reflections on Thing-a-Day

I guess I could reword and repost it here, but why don’t you just head over to my own blog and read my little re-cap and requiem for Thing-a-Day 2008. And you can find out what the hell this thing is:

Thanks for a great month, everyone!

This is dated the 29th, but it is actually my thing for the 28th (it was just after midnight when I put the date in I guess). We get one more last one tomorrow.

Sunday Evening at Outpost

I created a short visit to Outpost for the express purpose of making this drawing, but the soy latte was a pretty sweet bonus. And I’ll take pretty much any excuse to visit Outpost.

Day 22: The Bow Tie

It’s inappropriate to attend black tie affairs as an international man of mystery without a black tie outfit, of course. And it’s very important that one wear a self-tied bow tie of a material matching the jacket lapels, I believe. So, today I learned how to tie a bow tie. Had I been attending an actual black tie event, I would have shaved, first, of course.

Spying on YOU

With the theme of spying, I decided to check out you all.  I wanted to be nosy about how well the group was doing on posting.  It started as just a check on day 18 of what the distribution was of people who have posted a given number of times.  Then I decided that posting that might be sending the message that if you didn’t post every day you were behind or something - especially since in browsing the post I would see a lot of multiple thing posted in one post.  So, this is a snapshot in time to see how the numbers changed over two checks four days apart.  It is moving — even people with 3 or 4 posts are still with us — cool.

Birthday Party!

For February 21st, I threw myself a birthday party. I documented it poorly … probably a couple dozen folks (including me) weren’t photographed, and those that were were photographed poorly. Oh well. It was great, you had to be there, thanks to everyone who was, and extra crazy special thanks to Isa for making all kinds of wonderful food and Olivia for baking the cake!

A Number of Things for Today..

Sometimes a hawk will fly by my office window. If I’m lucky the hawk lands on a branch and stare at me typing, coding, slacking. When I look into the eye of the hawk it seems to have a purity no human can possesses.

This is a fun gif of my friend Andrew. Don’t worry! This was a rotten piece of wood and the tree was not hurt.

Finally I made this as an art piece. Questions about life, aging and finding happiness.

My Right Hand

As drawn by the left. I can’t remember ever drawing with my left hand before. It’s kind of creepy and I kind of want to do more of it.
