Good for holding stuff. It’s about 10″ x 8″. Vinyl is tough to work with and the manufacturing of it is terrible for the environment. I bought this vinyl second hand, so at least it won’t be going to the landfill.
Oh, recognize the little quilt block on the front? wink.
I’ve been sick, so time for bed.
That’s right, it’s lined too!

If you look at my next “thing” post, you’ll understand why this block is under clear vinyl. Of course the colors look totally off in this photo! Ugh!!

This is an improvised log cabin quilt block that I made with various ribbons. It’s about 4 inches square. Not sure what I’ll do with it yet….probably add it to another project. The photo doesn’t do the nice bright colors justice.

Here are 2 things, so I’m counting them as thing 13 and thing 14. They are coasters! I made them with some groovy vintage fabric scraps and a heavy-weight, double-sided fusible interfacing called fast2fuse. The extra stitching throughout the coasters makes them nice and firm. Now they will go on my coffee table.

Gotta come clean on this one: I made these fabric beads over a year ago. What I accomplished this evening, however, is stringing some of them together. It took longer than it looks. Really!
This Thing-A-Day challenge is busting my humpus.

Not much to say about this except that the resemblance was rendered masterfully.

Freezer paper is a great quilter’s secret. You can cut out shapes from it and iron them onto fabric, where they will stick temporarily. This is a handy way to create a stencil for fabric painting. I made a heart stencil for Valentine’s Day and used a rubber stamp ink pad that works on fabric.

BEFORE . . .

I found this idea in Martha Stewart Living magazine. Yes, I’m a big fan. No shame in that game!
The fabric is vintage—I have a massive collection. The jar is full of yo-yos that I’ve made over the past year.
Okay, that’s 3 things for one day. I’m catching up, people.

I found the idea and pattern for this in a quilting magazine last December. My execution is a little wonky. Oh well!

I made another sticker for my thing-a-day thing. This one took longer because I cut out the shape. Tomorrow, no more stickers.

My thing 5 is stickers. I know I’m late, so I made several. These are images that I cut out of vintage magazines, coloring books, and school books. I made them using a Xyron sticker maker. Good times.

This is part of a do-it-yourself mini calendar that I have been creating for my significant other since December of last year. It was a Christmas present. Here is my page for the month of March. 9 more pages to go . . . Sorry for the crapola photo.

These are yo-yos. Also known as granny circles. Quilters and needle artists like to make these with their fabric scraps.Word.

Good things coming soon . . . too bad I’m so busy! ;D
