Feb.9 and 10 - Trees and Chickens
Saturday I took a little trip to DC, where I was captivated by a tree.

Sunday, the clock was tickin’, so I just decided to make a little chicken.

Well it’s my own version of a haiku, i guess….

I’ve been creatively figuring out how to work around my laptop with windows vista. I am going to count that as my thing.
Today I made a simple Frogger game using the kids’ animation and game-making software called Scratch. We use it a lot where I work, and I always wanted to make this game. This is just one level, 3 cars.

Once a week I volunteer in the women’s section of Riker’s Island jail. I teach classes, including Creative Living, Job Skills, and now Practical Math. The bus to the island is an experience in itself. Today when I was on it, I wrote a little rhyme…
On the bus to Riker’s
I swallow in the city
The secret parts, I seek and
part the ones that some call shitty.
My pen breaks in the trembly ride,
A bus that’s hardly full
I breathe the work, the life,
the joy
the following, the rules.
The avenues, with numbers pass
who knows these streets so well?
What seems to me
good mystery
is someone else’s hell.
Sunday is a perfect day to do a little cookin’. I didn’t feel like making a big production though, so I made a simple beef stir fry. Not bad and healthy-ish!

My creative juices aren’t flowing quite yet, I’m having a hard time getting out of the “I have to do my thing-a-day”… But it’s just the beginning my friends.
Here is a little mixed panorama/collage of my subway experience today.
Just wanted to test this out.. I’m looking forward to thinging once a day!
