A collaboration between my boyfriend Craig and myself. He came up with the idea for a mempo inspired scarf and sketched out some design ideas, which I later re interpreted and then silkscreened onto these fleece scarves! We’ve spent quite a few days going over the designs and silkscreening them all and stuff. And today we finally finished all the work and got to take some pictures to show them off! The Japanese Mempo is a traditional armoured face mask found on a Samurai Kabuto helmet. These masks not only protected their faces, but were used to intimidate foes on the battlefield. One of my friends was kind enough to let me take some pictures of her wearing one of the scarves.

Well, day 8 was nothing special, I cleaned up my studio and made some space! It’s amazing how things can pile up.
Day 9 and 10 I spent in bed with the flu, so I made mountains of used tissues all weekend and that was it unfortunately!
Day 11, 12 and 13 was all sketchbook drawings and stuff.
So there you go! A boring non photo update for now!

I silk screened the covers of these books today, and then I put the books together. It was only my second time silk screening, so I am really happy how it turned out. Check out some more pictures of these books!

Day 5 I stretched a few silk screens and put emulsion on them to dry.
Day 6 I did this little 3.5 x 5 inch gouache painting on watercolour paper of Dick Dastardly from Hanna-Barbera’s Wacky Racers. He totally had the best car out of everyone, but he was too busy being a jerk to everyone to finish the race first! Hahaha! Definitely one of my favourite Villains.

I was getting some really great responses about the notebook I made, so I made another today and created a tutorial about how it was done.
Here is a link to the tutorial at my blog!

I made this little book over the weekend. The paper block one day, and then cut the cover and assembled it the next. It’s roughly 4 x 5 inches, is filled with 50 pages of mixed paper types, and has a soft vinyl wrap around cover! It’s going to be a late birthday present for a friend. I hope she likes it!

Today was Hourly Comic day and I thought it would be a good way to kick off my thing a day month. I decided to do quick, straight to pen comics in my sketchbook.
This is the first page.

And here is a link to the second page.
