Its pizza night

czblue11.jpgwe had friends round so had to make more pizzas than usual, but they got eaten before I had a chance to snap them, so here are some earrings I made instead.

I mean the pizzas got eaten, not the friends!

more for Valentines Day

heartneclaces33.jpgheartneclaces33.jpg…so I found some more hearts - bigger ones this time and made some pendants.

There is a mix of genuine Venetian glass, Chinese millefiori glass, handmade glass, rose quartz, green aventurine, and rubyite.

I must admit I cheated and used some ready made ribbon necklaces to hang them, but I think they are pretty.

Getting ready for Valentines Day

hearts1.jpgI’ve had these cute little millefiori glass hearts hanging around for a while so I deciced to make some simple little earrings for Valentines Day.

These cheap little earrings  should appeal to kids - I hope to sell some at the Kirribilli Art and Design Markets on sunday.

I made 18 pairs!

Lost at sea

chrys53.jpgI seem to be stuck in the aqua mode now, maybe I am lost at sea!

Well I love these rectangle chrysocolla beads, they make a lovely simple, classical necklace.

It always sells!

On a roll

dichro1.jpg

My new found enthusiasm helped me use this lovely Paula Radke dichroic glass bead. I teamed it with aqua czech crackle glass beads and some blue square glass beads.

Dichroic glass is hard to capture in photographs - the piece is more sparkly and pretty in real life.

Red Hot in the Pacific necklace

blueandred42.jpgStill on red -  but I found a way to include my favorite color, aqua, turquoise, blue…

It’s an asymetric necklace which I really like. I like a bit of irregularity. But designing irregular  is harder, kinda like designing two sepatate necklaces but they have to go together.

Mars the Red Planet

coralandlavarocks61.jpgBack to work!

The kids are back at school, or at least they both would be if Son hadnt decided to take a year off to pursue his music career. His band StopHard are jamming as I type, pity you cant hear them, they are doing a bluesy number now. If you’re interested you can try http://www.myspace.com/stophard

Anyway back to me -  continuing the red theme, maybe valentines day is on my mind…

Another simple creation to warm up, I promise to do some more interesting random stuff soon.

piece of cake

cake5.jpgWell so much for designing jewelry every day. Today we had friends come over and I baked a cake. This is a bit of a novelty since its been so hot lately, but today was cool enough to turn the oven on. I have a friend who has a frozen fruit business and he gave me these raspberries. It is a simple butter cake recipe and is great warm with cream or yoghurt.

getting started

zebranotsquare.jpgGetting started is the hard part.

I made a necklace to kick start February.

I had to make some red themed things for a shop and this was one thing I came up with, then I got distracted by aqua - as usual.
