 Today I got mattes for prints that I am going to sell.  I wasn’t able to get nicer paper to print on so I’ll have to hold off on prints till tomorrow.  Sorry the image is blurry.  My camera is not so good and the batteries died before I could get a good pic.  Tomorrow I will set up an Etsy account!!!!  Stay on the lookout.  I’ll post it on my website too so you can check out NicholeKelley.com for merchandise.  Also, yesterday I didn’t get to do a post because I went to The Million Year Picnic in Harvard Square with a friend to sell some buttons : )

I ordered clear bags, envelopes, and sent in for estimates on magnets in bulk today.  Just some things I’ve been putting off, but are needed to do more art.  I hope by the last day of the month I will be organized enough to start an etsy shop : )  Sorry there are no images for today.  Oh I had an idea to make letter magnets so you could buy a set or just the letters in your name.  What do you think?

 A doodle I did today and some more ideas to makes sets of monster buttons.  What are your 5 favorite?  Are there any that are missing that you like?

Today I made more buttons today to sell in Harvard Sq tomorrow : )  I’m not posting an image since they look the same as the other buttons.

 I actually finished these a while ago, but I was fighting with my printer to print them out for buttons.  for some reason it’s not printing to scale (which matters a lot for buttons), and I have no idea what is wrong with it.  I triple checked all my settings and measurements and I’m baffled.  Has this ever happened to anyone else?  I’ll fight with it again tomorrow.

I am spending some time with my brother tonight since I don’t get to see him a lot.  We are playing monopoly.  I contemplated some ideas to make items to sell.  I will make more buttons tomorrow.  Here’s an old dino idea for something to look at.  Is this something you’d like to see as a button, painting, 3-d painting, or neither? 

 I made buttons and magnets out of my dino today.  I was planning on adding some shading, but it might be too small to matter.  As it is, I still think the dino needs to be shrunk more : /  It makes me sad to make pretty art at a large scale, then shrink it down and loose the details.  I guess I should just make my buttons smaller to begin with.  Sorry they didn’t photograph well, but shiny things in dark houses never photo well.  (I am to lazy to get out the tripod too!)

 I wanted to make dinosaur buttons today.  I thought it would be a good exercise to learn illustrator.  You know something small.  I HATE ILLUSTRATOR.  I got the lines done, wanted to blow up my computer, then gave up and switched to photoshop.  2.5 hours later the lamest unfinished button ever!  Anyone know any good tutorials for illustrator?

 I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics today and got some fabric to make a messenger bag .  I wanted to make a wallet tonight, but it got too late.

I started the very beginning stages of planning our vacation today.  We are planning on driving to Disney from New England.  I saw that someone’s thing a day today was going to epcot.  Very jealous! 

 A drawing I started for my boyfriend.  I also sanded my jigsaw piece.  AND beat the Patapon demo : )

 Ok so I finished this a few days ago, but I finally gave it to my boyfriend’s parents.  Sorry I didn’t post yesterday, but I had my friend Johnny Chew Awesome Kid over and I didn’t want to be rude to him : )

 I made a valentine for my boyfriend : )  Now I must go play the demo of Patapon 

 This was my thing-a-day for the 13th.  I had to take pictures of textures for work, so I ran around last night looking for cool textures in my house.  I also uploaded this last night, and for some reason it had disappeared  by this morning.  Weird huh?

 Ok here’s my real post.  I cut out wood pieces to make a 3 dimensional painting.  This has been something I wanted to try for a while now.  I used a scroll saw my dad let me borrow.  It was harder than I thought it was going to be, but I’m still pleased with the outcome since it was so difficult.  I think with practice it’ll become much easier.  Next steps are to sand the edges, paint it, then glue it together : )

 Ok this totally doesn’t count, but it was way too eventful not to post it.  Today we caught a dinner roll on fire in the microwave.  I wish I had a picture of the smoke.  It’s also ironic because we tried to cook it in the microwave since we knew our oven would fill our place with smoke.  I guess we should have tried that : / 

 Today I felt like doing something simple and different.  I decided to start coloring some of my doodles.  Not a very productive activity. 

 More ideas for painting.  What do you like most? 

 Today I worked on a painting.  It’s a gift for someone so I can’t upload it till they get it.  Also, I uploaded an image for a valentine idea.  I need to learn illustrator so I might end up using it as learning tool.
