I love those purple tulips.  I played with the background trying to make it more artistically pleasing.

Creative energy is low tonight so I figured now would be a good time to get busy trying out my ideas for the hubby’s VDay card.  This is most of picture one.  There are a few other layers not present here but in case I use this one I don’t want him seeing it all.  I’m not sure if I like the effect I put on the roses.  Doesn’t really scream warm fuzzy thoughts.  Tell me what you think.  Cool or freaky?

Today finds me dreaming of spring and flowers.

It was late and raining and beautiful.

Standing at the bus stop looking for beauty and this is what I saw.

I started with just blocks of colors and then the piece grew and morphed until I had this….   If I see a dragon shooting flames at a witch does that mean I’ve read too much Harry Potter?

I just let it flow and the first few attempts were not feeling natural and then I hit on this color combo and it just flowed out of me.  What can I say…I think I have CNN syndrome.  Is there a place you can go to embrace the wonderful random simple acts of kindness that go on everyday mainly unnoticed?

I have a really dear friend who’s birthday is today and for over twenty years I have wished him a Happy Gopher Day.  He spent the first 10 years telling me it was Groundhogs Day until he finally caught on I just enjoyed being saying gopher.  Now he lets me get away with wishing him a Happy Gopher Day before I get around to wishing him a Happy Birthday.  I was in the birthday mood today so I went ahead and made up a card for my niece even though her birthday isn’t for another month.  I already wrote in it when I remembered I needed to post this so Photoshop to the rescue.

All day long in the back of my mind I thought about what I wanted to do tonight for my first go at this….fortunately, I ended up working late and decided not to do anything that didn’t have the ability to just evolve into something. So I came home exhausted and sat on the couch hanging with the kid for a while. Then I crawled upstairs where I then chatted for a while with the hubby. Finally I made it to my haven (aka home office) and opened up photoshop and just played and low and behold something was born. I really like it. As it evolved I felt my senses coming alive. I felt the twinkle in my eye coming back. It’s simple but it came from me and that’s enough for today.

The ideas are just dancing inside my head…the big question is what should be my first project?
