all by itself. i decided to document it as it lay there, stranded and alone.

Drawings, Stickers, and more
Yesterday I made this drawing as I was thinking about Zoroastrianism. I think the whole idea of Right thought, Right words, Right deed is wonderful and something to contemplate.
Today I made some Stickers at the Sustainable South Bronx Fablab. I used this machine:
The sticker is the blue arrow like thing to the right. The SSBx part is lightly engraved:

leather bracelet thing a day
I made a bracelet out of some laser-etched leather. The etchings are from one of my illustrations.
I cut the leather in a swirly asymmetical fashion, and added one of my rose hair decorations to attach the two sides.

some birdy loves me armwarmers / cuffs
These socks were a gift from my sister. Inspired by this post by dyslexia, I decided to use the cute valentines socks my sister gave me as arm warmers as well. I like them better as cuffs. I simply cut and hemmed the end.

QR code tribute to the Fertility Goddess for Valentines Day
February is traditionally a time for fertility celebrations. In the spirit of this, I made earrings (via a lasercutter) that act as a physical hyperlink to the wikipedia article for the Fertility Goddess. Taking a photo of these earrings using a qr code reader on your phone will take you to the mobile version of the page. I generated the code using Semapedia.
Unfortunately, the ones I made without writing “Fertility Goddess” (so just the code) didn’t turn out dark enough…but this works to show the concept.

Patterns for Jewelry
I created some patterns out of my illustrations to be interpreted on leather bracelets. For this particular pattern, I used this illustration. See it large.
QR codes on Muju Labels!
The new labels came in today (Day 11). Celebrating with a post about the new labels.
This is how the QR codes work. When you use the image with your QR code reader it takes you here.

Love Cupcakes and ideas for jewelry
I made red velvet cupcakes today. Some of them spell the word “LOVE”. Those are the last four I left in the oven too long.
Though yesterday I skipped my thing, today I spent a few hours researching some of the most beautiful jewelry in the world. I came up with a bunch of ideas for necklaces, this pattern is something I imagine could be worn on a neclace, or maybe even as part of a bracelet.

simplicity, consistency, and timing
I started this a while ago, though today I added the finer details. Every time i looked at it I felt like it still needed work. I used ink and a paintbrush for the yellow and red. For the black I used ink (with a paintbrush) and pens with various line weights. I still feel like I can add more, but the whole piece would change. Here it is now.

lasercutting designs in wood
Today i went to the South Bronx to check out the SSBx Fablab. The Fablab is a collaboration between MIT and Sustainable South Bronx to empower the local community to make what they need at a grassroots level (also now accepting fellows). Today for my thing-a-day I took this drawing of mine and lasercut the surface of this wood as an experiment. More on Flickr.
