It’s suddenly turned very cold in Leeds, so I’ve made myself another scarf. It turned out a bit longer than I expected but it’s certainly very warm. I’ll be really disappointed if I get up tomorrow to find that the weather has changed again.

It looks a bit grey in these pictures but it’s actually a nice lavender colour

I only had 10 mins this evening, so I crocheted a daisy

Day 12 - I made Roast Vegetables (in other words, I made my tea). It fit nicely into the time allowed (10 mins chopping followed by 40 mins in the oven). I used parsnip, sweet potato, red onion, leek and lots of garlic and served it up with some Wensleydale cheese. I didn’t take any pictures so you’ll have to take my word for it, it looked at tasted lurrverly.
Day 13 - I took some pictures to use in a photo collage, probably going to become a desktop wallpaper. I’d hoped to actually edit them tonight too but t’s getting late so that can be a thing for another day

I spent the day at the seaside today, and went on a hunt for 50 silver flithers along the sea-front. Today’s thing is a couple of photo collages of our search.

I’m making a cover for my Zen this week, so today’s thing is the bit that will hold it in place. Not much to look at right now but I’ll be fixing it to a jewellery type roll to make a cover.

Had a bit of a bad day today, and I’m tired so today’s thing is a quick, angry doodle

Shrove Tuesday = Pancake Day, so I made pancakes today. I haven’t made them in ages so my family were kept amused by my running commentary “the batter’s too thin! do you think I can just throw a bit more flour in? it just won’t thicken! oh no, now I’ve made it too thick! oh god, I flipped it up too high!”. After a lot of muppeting about and a change of frying pan, I served a tasty batch of pancakes. Some opted for the traditional sugar and lemon juice, I had mine with crushed nuts (cashews and pistachios) and maple syrup.

I’ve still got a jug full of batter in the fridge too..

My thing today was a quickly crocheted pair of fingerless gloves. I used Sirdar Blur and just worked up rectangles in Treble (UK), folded in half and Single crocheted the long edges together leaving a gap for my thumb.

I meant to crochet up part of a scarf for today’s thing, but didn’t know when to stop. I’m not sure that it’s quite finished yet, it’s quite lightweight so I might need to make it a bit longer to be able to wrap it around a few times. I took the pattern from the Garden Scarf design by Michelle Ameron in The Happy Hooker and used Sublime yarn on a 6mm hook.

I thought I’d go for something quick and simple as my first “thing”, so I made Album Art drawing pins out of Shrinkles. I printed out a few CD covers on to Shrink Plastic, zap it with the heat gun (something I’ll never get bored of), then melted drawing pins to the back with an extra scrap of plastic. They’ll be going to work with me on monday to brighten up the Gantt charts and system diagrams pinned to my sound board.
