It’s the final thing! I had a great time seeing everyone’s projects over the month. Some days were easier than others, but I’m glad I stuck with it and actually did something every day this month!
I’m thinking of doing a redesign on my blog and updating the look. Today I played around with some banner ideas, so here are two versions, with a couple variations on each. I like to keep things pretty simple:

Last night I took another foray into sewing and hemmed up a pair of pants that I’ve been wearing with staples in the cuffs to keep the fold in! Unfortunately, black pants don’t seem to photograph well, nor would it be a particularly interesting photo anyways, so here is a stock photo of a sewing machine I did not use. But it’s a cool illustration.
The sewing went much better that my elastic-waist skirt experiment, but these were pants out of a woven fabric (instead of a knit) and therefore were much easier to seam.

I recently started photographing the labels of wines that I’ve been drinking, because I have the worst memory for what I’ve tried or had before, but also because wine labels can be awfully pretty. When I was in design school, one of the projects for one for the typography classes was to create a wine label (not the class I was in - curses!). Today I finally uploaded the rest to Flickr. Here’s a mosaic (things always look nice in a mosaic, don’t you think?).

Whew! I think I’m all caught up now!

I wound yarn for my next sweater by hand. Not particularly creative, but relaxing and nice to run the hands through your hands. This is Berroco Ultra Alpaca.

I took photos of the Oscars. I love the effect that the digital photos have on the TV. Click on an image to see some more in my Flickr account.

Just a photo for Saturday’s thing. I was cat-sitting over the weekend, and for lack of a better project, I’m posting a photo I took that day:

On Friday I rolled up some paper beads out of newspaper. I still need to seal them. I actually wasn’t sure I liked them until I strung them all together.

I enjoyed making the origami stars, so I did some more in two sizes. These are folded out of coupon circulars from the newspaper.

I finished up my Bobble Hat:
More details to come on my blog.

Working out a bookplate idea. These are still rough, but I wanted to try to work in my antler-craze:

This is what I was focusing on finishing this weekend. Although it’s not a stand-alone project, I was ready to get this done and really wanted to move it to my finished object status. hooray!

There will be more details on my blog tomorrow.

I didn’t get the chance to blog this yesterday. I’m not much of a sewer, but this is my attempt at a pull-on skirt. It works, but there’s a lot of wonkiness to it. I think it’ll be good to wear around the house in the summer, though.

I’ve been swamped today, so all I have is a progress shot of my current knitting - Twiggy Bobble hat:

Today, a photo. It was bright and clear, so I snapped a photo while walking by the Empire State building:

I’ve been obsessing over antlers and design that features them recently (as design, not taxidermy, like in ceramic or mirrored, etc.) so I thought I’d make some more patterns. The first was a mistake, but I ended up liking how it looked (doesn’t that always happen?), and the second is just repetitive. I’d love to find a better-resolution image.

It’s another paper strip art project. I wish I could do these earlier in the day and get a daylight photo to avoid the reflection…

A couple things that caught my eye today, and the reasons why:
