Well, for the last three days I’ve been learning to knit! Yay! And unless I do something, that’s probably what I’m going to be doing for the rest of February. So I need you to help me think of things to doodle. I found this on DeviantArt and wanted to try it. Here’s the rules:

Well, the past three days I’ve been teaching myself to knit.

I am not a good teacher.

The first day I couldn’t get past the first row of stitches. The second day I finally made a few rows, but kept making my stitching to tight. And today I haven’t done anything yet, but hopefully I’ll actually be able to start on a scarf or something. I really wanna make wristlets, but I don’t think I can yet. I went to the library and got about ten books on knitting, so that should be able to help me. I’ve looked through them and so far they just make me want to make more things. Have a good one!

Alright, well, my  main thing-a-day was to finish up the vday gift I was talking about yesterday. But just so I don’t have anything to show you guys I made a bat real quick for my roommate. Funny story behind it. The cliff note version is that a bat got into my roommates room over this summer and it took us forever to catch it. Cute little brown bat that became death on wings when it flew around. My roommate is terrified of animals, so a bat in her room made that night a very interesting one.

Well, I did work on something, for quite awhile today, BUT I can’t put it up because it is my valentine’s day gift. And of course, the person I made it for is also doing Thing-a-Day. So you see, I can’t put up a description, a picture, or even hints. I can just say that I worked on it and you’ll just have to trust me. I’ll put it up after Vday if I remember. Remind me if you really want to know what it is.

So my thing-a-day was to clean my desk today. Definitely took longer then I expected. And trust me…….it needed to be done. I am a clutterbug.

I got watercolors for Christmas and this is the first chance I’ve had to use them. I failed miserably at the last two days, and I’m really sorry about that. I kind of let myself down. However, now I’m even more determined to meet the midnight deadline for the rest of the days.

I am very happy with how my first watercolor piece turned out. I knew I wanted to do something that flowed and I think I accomplished that. The first picture is of my watercolor by itself and then the second picture if after I touched it up in photoshop. I moved the left arm a bit and got rid of all the smudge marks.

Special thanks to my friend Noah who gave me his old drawing tablet for the computer. I LOVE it. Now I’m pretty sure I’m going to get back into photoshop! Yay Noah!

Well, again, I wrote a few letters. I was sorely behind on my pen pal writings, but thanks to Thing-A-Day I caught up. Yay! I also planned my Europe trip out, which I guess is more research then creativity, but I think that should count too! And just so there’s a picture on my post here’s my bunnies.

I made some postcards yesterday, and today I spent time writing them out and sending them to people who I have not talked to in a while or who I thought needed a smile.

I made some postcards today. I used my watercolor pencils and created a sunflower/lady bug and a fish (the blue background didn’t come out well when I scanned it). I’m decently happy with both and I’m sending them out tomorrow.

I used to draw horses alot, so I decided to start again.

Hi all!

I drew for the first time in quite a few months and I decided to try and shade with my pen. Never did that before, so here’s the result. Her head is much to big, but other then that I think it turned out all right. Oh, and I didn’t bother to get rid of the sketch marks. I already spent enough time on this tonight. I have a midterm tomorrow.

So, for today’s thing a-day I decided to make a collage out of only pictures that I’ve taken. I realized….I need to take more pictures. So there’s a new project I could work on. There’s not very many pictures, but all the images are my own. It seems I’ve lost alot of detail in this..shame.

So…it’s the first day and not only did I wait til the last minute to post something….but I already stole someone else’s idea!!!

I’m sooooo bad.

Anyway, someone had already made the cat bus from Totoro, but I loved it so much I had to make one of my own to sit on my desk.  (Thank you to that person!)

So not only did I make it, but I played around taking pictures of it and then poking around in photoshop. Enjoy!

So, I have a question. Does it have to be a completely new project everyday, or say we can continue working on a project and just post pictures of it as we work on it? Like a chainmail bracelet or a very detailed drawing?

I found this site on livejournal and I’m so excited! I’ve been meaning to start drawing/being creative again, but I just haven’t had the time. But we need to make time for the things we want to do right? Right! So I’m really going to try and do this. Good luck to everyone!
