Valentines

Well, a friend of mine was reminiscing with me about the days in elementary school when we made mailboxes and gave everyone in the class valentines and candy. And I said something like

“Gosh, why can’t we do that anymore?” and she replied
“Oh, well I’m making valentines! You should too!”

So today, she is my muse of inspiration. I didn’t have the money for real valentines, so I just made up a bunch of my own. There’s about ten more than are shown here (each with a different message - it was tough!), and I hope to keep making more throughout the day at school.

(Whoops, on some of these photos, parts of the cards got cut off. I can’t figure out how to use my scanner)

Sorry for my corny catch-phrases, but I feel almost as if that is part of what Valentines cards are all about.

Also, I’ve stopped keeping track of the days. I’ll just post when I can - defeating the purpose of thing-a-day, I know! But hopefully you will not mind me posting arbitrarily.

Days Eight, Nine, and Ten

Day 8 is unaccountable. I did make some crepe paper flowers, but they were given away before any record of them could be taken!

On Day 9, I made a schedule. Booooring. But I have found that I do not make or follow schedules unless I literally draw them out, so here is how I plan out my time on a typical weekend! I will admit that this one is rather more elaborate than usual.

Schedule

Although, I did not follow this schedule, regardless.

For Day 10, I began my Studio art project! I suppose I should add to it, but I’m putting it aside for tonight.

Compliment Attack! - Day 7

Yesterday I was having a relatively bad day - you know how you just have those days? Well, I sat down in class and just felt horrible, and I pulled out my binder and - oh my goodness! A friend of mine (whose handwriting I recognized) had left an anonymous note in my bag, that just read, “Adorable!” It was goofy, and made me smile, a lot.

So anyhow, later I thanked him for it, and his response was:
“so so so I think that we should start an all-out campaign of leaving nice notes in people’s bags. English class tomorrow. bring kindness.”

Thus, here is the first batch of compliments! I spent a lot of time slipping them sneakily into my schoolmates’ book bags, and giggling foolishly to myself when they didn’t notice. I wonder what their reactions were!

Speed Art

Well, here is my thing for today! I wish I had something more elaborate to share, but boy do I have a lot to get done tonight!

This was made in perhaps..five minutes? During our rather non-productive choir rehearsal.  This basically epitomizes elementary school art projects - I guess I’m returning to my roots.

Day “Two”

“Well Katie, what did you make today?”

“Hmm. Someone’s DAY.”

I hope that’s not cheating too much.

Isn’t she lovely?

Whoops, well I guess I missed the very first day - what a start!
Yet, a start that is quite illustrative of my character.
Don’t mind me, while I flounder along behind the punctual artists. I’m doing my best!

Here is my first project. It smells deliciously of grape.
