HopeEvey day 19

Tonight I had a Valentines Day Tea Party and Panties Decorating Extravaganza. I had a great time. I only decorated one pair - but since I threw the party, I still have all the fabric paint to use at another time. Other folks decorated drawers, but I don’t consider it appropriate to post those pictures without their express permission.

Despite having almost no time, I actually managed to scrawl some ideas:
Character idea:
So, she’d be a telepath who, either through an accident or birth defect was terribly facially malformed. Her parents and family were as supportive as they could be, and shielded her from knowing what other people thought about her. Then her Xgene activates and she knows what everyone thinks. She essentially hides out in solitary pursuits and avoids people. As a teen, she (somehow) has surgeries to correct the malformation, so she looks fine, but is still shy and nervous of new people.
_____________
swap idea:
flower embroidered or quilted wrist bracers for Ostara partner - wide elastic to keep them on, or velcro, or loops with elastic laced through them - tie and slip on at wrist or elbow or ankle, however long you tie the elastic, holes could be loops or buttonholes
I started this hat a while back, so I’d have a portable knitting project. I wove in the ends tonight. Once it’s had a wash, it’ll be ready to be donated to the OB department of a local hospital.

I found I craved drawing with colored pencils today. So I noodled around with them a bit, and there’s a really poor picture of my efforts below. It’s a simple thing, but it makes me inordinately happy.

Today my only creative output was adding a new guest to the Stellarcon website, including editing the picture to fit on the site.
A long, long time ago I asked for words to write acrostics. I decided to write the last one for today’s Thing
above the wind-swept field, the plane
erupts with smoke. The people below
react as if its about to crash, then stare in
open-mouthed awe as it spins, light as a
butterfly, leaving a trail in the shape of
a heart.
The pilot then swoops down
into a perfect landing, and askes for the first
customer who’d like to ride while he
spins and whirls around the smoke heart.
DiY Bath Beads:
Buy some empty gelatin capsules, find an oral syringe (your pharmacist will probably give you one if you ask nicely), and choose a scented or unscented oil. Use the syringe to fill the capsules, and there you go - bath beads! These are 00 capsules filled with plain almond oil, for a relative with dry, very sensitive skin

Today’s thing was group interactive story-telling - AKA a role playing game. Here’s a bit of the beginning of the character journal:
2008My name is Savannah Rose Chapin. I was born December 3rd, 1839, and died March 14th, 1855. I was killed by a monster masquerading as human being, and became one myself. I have sustained myself with the blood of living beings ever since.

“The point is that, while every single patient who used that IV stand got better, and usually much faster than expected, every single one of them became convinced it was haunted.”
“Haunted?”
“Well, something like that. They saw a fairy, or an angel, or some such nonsense. So it ended up out in the construction area. They still tell stories about injuries healed by some winged thing, but what do you expect from a bunch of supersticious construction workers?”
“But if people got well…”
“It was disruptive! You can’t have patients breaking out into hosannas in the ICU. We’re trying to practice medicine, not become some kind of side show.”

Today I made two things - a birthday postcard, and another rope toy for my dog. Frankly, I should probably keep making rope toys until I’m out of rope, so I’ll have a stockpile
I looked at a book called 1000 ATCs today, and got wildly inspired. I may have to make ATCs soon.

I had to look high and low to find a thin, all-cotton rope to make toys for my dog. She loves to chew on rope toys, but anything too big and she can’t get her mouth around it. Eventually she’ll chew it to bits, but she has a great time in the process.

Like so many others, I’m just trying this thing out. While I wouldn’t jump off a bridge just because my friends are, I am following a friend into this project. I think it’ll be fun. And it’s a good chance for me to try out WordPress, as there’s a totally unrelated project I’m involved with that may migrate to WordPress in a few months.
I’m a 35 year old in Raleigh, NC. I’ll probably make postcards, ATCs, cook, maybe knit, probably crochet and do some tiny tatted things. Other than that, I have no plans so far
Enjoy!
