(This was the day I missed. Turns out I hit “Save” but not “Publish”. I am so not used to wordpress. -MJ)
Tonight I was tired - so I dolled myself tired. I like the hair - I wish saving as .gif hadn’t killed it so bad. Ah well.

Base is from ILCK.

Oy! So I got so involved in my Thing last night that I fell asleep without posting it.
Yesterday I made lists. Which sounds like nothing, but they were lists of people and times so that I could make well-formed groups of folks that could all do the same group-activity at the same time. It was tricksy, and getting people’s availability out of them really sucked.
(To be less vague: I was building groups for my World of Warcraft guild’s raiding schedule.)

Today I finished the scroll I was working on yesterday…. and discovered my camera was dead. Pictures forthcoming.
I also can’t seem to find the post I made for day 6. (weird) so I’ll need to repost that, but it’s on my camera, so… batteries. Oy.

That’s my workspace. Today’s thing was the base coats for the border I’m doing, for a scroll blank. Black paper, gouache (like watercolor, but opaque) paint.
Tomorrow, the whitework, corners, and line cleanup.

Today I made lots and lots of paper cranes. They ranged in size from 1 cm2 to 10cm2. It was a lot of fun, seeing that they were all made from notebook paper colored with crayon and colored pencil. Seeing as I gave them all away, there are no pictures. But it was tons of fun! There were more than 30 cranes, all in all.

My sister challenged me to make origami cranes today. So, I did. And, looking for a challenge, I made larger ones than usual. But, of course, Nothing is perfect. I went right back to the tiny cranes I love so much. Here are seven cranes, and a penny - shown for size comparison, but i’d readily give it to you for your thoughts.

So! It’s the Year of the Rat (that’s my year!) and so I needed something red to wear. I have my Equality Now Red Bracelet which will be my everyday for most of the year, but sometimes you need something different. So I crocheted myself a headband. It looks awesome! Here are some photos; First is the headband on my desk (ignore the junk and WoW in the background…) and the second is me with the headband on. I’m incredibly proud of how this turned out. Yay red! Yay rat! … now it’s bedtime.

So, for day 5, I did another doll. I haven’t done these in ages, and I really enjoyed yesterday’s. So, today I dolled a girl on a mushroom. Base is from Pinkies.

So. Today, I did some graphic art instead of some paper art. Because cartoon dolling is a passion of mine. I call this one “Rainy Day Blues” because.. well, she lost her shoe. And it was raining. And she’s wet and cranky. *shrugs* Enjoy. (Oh, and you’ll find the base at ILCK).

So, today’s scroll blank is a combination of a mosaic, knotwork, and the letter A. It looks more geometric than I planned, and I messed up some of the breaks I was planning, but it still looks kinda neat. First picture is with nasty flash, second picture is from a different angle so that the flash doesn’t suck so much.

Edit: I hate wysiwyg posts. >.<

Today was a long day at work (8am-2pm. It’s long for me.) and then a full day of gaming (yay pulp-era gurps!). What that means is no pretty scroll. But, since I live in Minnesota and it’s cold here, I crocheted my GM a scarf. It’s pretty and warm and grey, and since we were at his place, I let him keep it. Without getting a picture >.< Ah well. I’m proud of it. Tomorrow, more shiny pretty things. Maybe I’ll make myself some arm-warmers.

Today I made a scroll blank. What’s a scroll blank? Well, in short, it’s a piece of pseudo-medieval art, used as the background or illustration for an award someone will receive. I’m excited, this one took a lot of time (more than I had to spend, but less than I planned for) and looks gorgeous. Watercolor (ok, guache) on smooth Bristol paper. First photo is close up with flash, second is full page, sans flash.
