Day 20

1
Back after dropping out for too long.

0
Okay, fell off the wagon yesterday. Back on today.
2
Day 12. The suggestive title came from a cigarette ad.

Back to Collages That Have the Title Incorporated Into Them.

This one still feels unresolved. Something in the composition didn’t come out right, but I can’t put my finger on it.
1
Felt like taking a break from collage. This is Seamus, our rottweiler-pitbull mix. Affectionately known as Shamy-wamy or Sir Lick-a-lot. A photo can be seen here.

1
What a great word. I’m not sure why I started putting deliberate captions in my images, but I guess this one is all titles. Still, “electrific” is an awesome word.

#8

Still doing collages. I think I might mix it up soon.

1
Cutting it kinda close.

2
Day 5. Had an oddly long scrap of matte board, so that’s what I used. I didn’t overthink this one, and as a result I think it came out better.

0
Not sure about the paint. I felt like the negative space was too white. Maybe I should lay down a background first and then work on top of it. Still, I’m feeling good about doing a consistent thing every day, regardless whether I’m in the mood or not.

1
It’s hard not to overthink it, or obsess over how “good” something is. I know it’s a waste of energy, but it’s hard to do that. A big part of this experiment is to let go of that and just do it.

0
Day 2. Went over the 1-hour limit by about another half hour. Just kind of got in the zone, I guess.

0
Those Fiery Brazilian Bees.

Collage with found scraps. Some encyclopedic, some junk-mailian. I’m not exactly loving it, but it’s the process that’s more important, right?

It might be crazy to do this while also participating in the RPM Challenge (an album in a month), but the way I see it I’m working on 29 possible album covers.
