This is a quickly made card for Michelle, who just sent me the Amy Sedaris book. Whoo hoo!  Another good use for my contact sheets. I’m glad I was “all vertical” for that roll!

This card was ALMOST done before Kristin’s going away happy hour. Then the eye-dilating Dr. appt put the embroidering on hold…also I didn’t think they’d let me take needles and scissors on the flight, so the poor kitten didn’t get a face until I got home.

This was my inflight craft, I got a plastic hook and everything. Needs 1 more skein of yarn, Abby had the idea to make it a narrower and longer scarf, so it can be looped around a few times. Odd to work on a scarf on a flight to Miami, but I haven’t mastered other stitches yet, and it passed the time.

The view from my balcony. My days were spent making newspaper planter pots at a festival…so I only had a few moments each day to peek at Miami, usually from this balcony…which after a day with thousands of families passing by the table, was a welcome bit of peace. Also, much much better than the bad weather I left in the northeast.

in Miami for work, not play…I snuck out on my balcony at different times of the day, and took photos of the different light.

I used our “best picture” ticket stubs to make an Oscar party invite. Of course, I’ll be away for work, so instead I’ll leave it as a note for E. I might have to call him on Oscar night, and beg him to shriek about milkshakes in Daniel Day Lewis’s accent.

The inspiration for this badge: in the ’70’s, my grandparents lived at 40 Prospect St, and my Grandmother collected owls. She also had some pretty large flowered wall paper in citrus tones.

Thing 16: water color pencils. I last played with them in middle school. Which is where my drawing ability stayed…grade 6. Fun to break out water colors with the girls, though.

I made so much good food over the weekend, and forgot to take photos of the excellent presentation. But there is evidence, in the fridge!

after everyone went home, my brain was quite tired. I got a new crochet book, and I like my stitches even better. Reading directions, who knew?

no craft stuff today, cleaned up the office (above) and made a little nest for Eric’s nieces, who should be here in time for bed.

a magnet thank you, made out of those same old road trip contact sheets. Because of the weather, I couldn’t get my car from the shop, and had no way over the mountain home. So thanks Stacey! I got to camp in Allentown and have good food, good drinks and many laughs. (And, as special thanks, I did not photograph the inside of your medicine cabinet just to fulfill the ’spying’ theme on thing-a-day)

I thought I was almost done…silly me. My stitches got tighter, and the scarf got narrower, which might’ve been cool in the 80’s, to have an asymmetrical scarf…but I tore it out and started a-new…

Bought new water color pencils today, goofed around scribbling this while watching the will i am you tube video. Even though I haven’t decided who I’m voting for yet, something about this video/ Obama’s speech gives me goosebumps.

Meant to spend 30 minutes starting a scarf…the night got away from me, and now I’m halfway done!
