Made it to the last day and made this acrylic-and-paper mobile I’ve had in mind for a while. It’s been a great month. Thanks to everyone for the inspiration and motivation!

Here’s the latest.
Monday I watched an art video called Works by Women: From the Heart. It was from 1982 and featured nine women artists and it was awesome.
Tuesday I made an abstract graphite drawing.

Yesterday I read a section of The Artist’s Way. I think I’m going to start the course March 1.
And today I went to the art museum to see an exhibit called The Dancer, with works by Degas, Forain and Toulouse-Lautrec. Photography wasn’t allowed inside the museum, so here’s a picture of one of the banners hanging on the building.

That statue was my favorite piece in the exhibit. It’s a Degas called Little Fourteen-Year-Old Dancer and it is bronze with a real tutu and hair ribbon. Apparently the original scandalized the Impressionist art world in Paris because it was so realistically detailed and the subject was a bit risque.

I’ve slacked off on posting and gotten more casual about my Things, but I’m still at it. Friday I did this doodle based on some photos of my son wearing various weird things.

I also went swimming that night, which should count as a Thing because it takes so much for me to get motivated.
Saturday I went on a short hike and tested my new camera. Yesterday I took fun photos and did some much-needed organizing.

Now I’m going to put together my new vacuum cleaner. I’m ridiculously excited about this.

The past couple of days my Things have been doodles or colored pencil drawings, nothing I feel like uploading. Today I made two collages. The image on the first one is dark for some reason. It’s actually a greenish-blue background. Acrylics, marbled paper and papyrus on paper.

This one is the second in a series with similar colors. It’s acrylic on paper.

Yesterday’s doodle. It’s a thing in a car. A wedge-shaped car, apparently.

Saturday I went to the opera to see Handel’s Rodelinda.
Yesterday I edited a bunch of photos and here are a couple of them:

I got a camera for my birthday and I’ve been dying to make a pouch for it so I could take it everywhere in my purse. My thing for today, yay!

Wool felt pouch hand stitched and lined with cotton. I love the colors.

This is what I worked on for Day 13 and Day 14–a Valentine collage for my sweetie. He likes orange, so the colors are not…traditional. I didn’t mean for it to get so cluttered but all the pictures seemed like good ideas at the time. It’s 4″ by 6″. He is German. “Zusammen” means “together” auf Deutsch.

Yesterday I started a colored pencil drawing and painted some paper that I’ll use in a collage later. But the only thing I finished was this guy:

It’s a Shrunken Head catnip toy for my Etsy shop.

These are from the 10th. I’m keeping up pretty well with doing stuff every day but not so great with posting.

And to spare everyone a separate post for the 11th, I’ll put my picture of the first crocuses here too, for a touch of spring!

For yesterday’s Thing I went to the top of this:

so I could see this:

And I took tons of photos along the way!

And now that I’m caught up, today’s entry:

This is a magazine photo outlined with marker and painted in with gesso. I also did another one, which is on my blog.

I’m behind on posting, but I did doodle yesterday. Here’s a beaver, with a nosy kangaroo trying to get into the frame:

I doodled yesterday but didn’t like any of them enough to take pictures. Instead, I’m posting photos of the other thing I did: made pudding from scratch! I’ve been meaning to do that for a couple of years and finally got around to it.

And it came out great.

Just finished this one so it’s still wet:
