Day 7 - Photograph broken heart brooch

I finished this piece last week, along with several other heart brooches. Didn’t have time or energy to take them to get professionally photographed, so kept this one for myself. This is the best photograph I can take myself, as I have no light box, lights, or even a tripod.

Day 6 - Jewelry form models

Thing-a-Day Day 6

I’m looking to make some hollow jewelry forms from cross shapes, dapping them in the center to create drops. Difficult to describe, but one of these in silver will happen soon. :)

Day 4 - Robot drawing

Thing-a-Day Day 4

Today I sketched this little robot guy, but hated his arms so I cut them off.

Day 3 - Test etching

On Day 2, I built a low-tech bubble etch tank. To test it, I dragged out this image I’d copied onto PNP Blue quite awhile ago. Today, I cut it out and prepped it to be a gift for my 5-year-old niece. It could be either a pendant or a ring, so I’m leaving the choice up to her.

Day 2 - Bubble etch tank

Bubble etch tank

Though I’ve been making every day, I haven’t had a chance to document and post yet. Argh.

Day 1 I stupidly finished a project I cannot post an image of, as it’s a surprise for a friend and they will surely hear about it from other friends also participating in Thing-a-Day. Stupid.

Day 2 I made a low-tech bubble etch tank for etching copper, brass, nickel and steel while also giving a demo on etching using PNP Blue. Here’s an image of the tank, featuring the fine work of some friend’s etchings-in-progress.
