Thing 27, 28 and 29
Woo! I made it! Each of the past 3 days I spent some time working on finishing up these humongous, hideous slippers that will be felted. (My husband wanted these colors!) How apropos that I finally finished knitting this project tonight, the last night of Thing-A-Day.

I really hope they shrink down to a decent size. They are too ridiculous.
My husband’s nickname is Bigfoot but those are ridiculous. I have always feared felting for that reason - it just seems so nerve-wracking to wonder how much something will shrink in the process.
You know, this is the most absolutely JOY-full post I have yet to see this whole month! I laughed out loud, not to be mean-spirited, but between your words and the picture I just lost it. I love your sharing. I have never felted so I have no concept other then you have to knit big to account for shrinkage. I will tell you that I worked on (what I thought was) a shawl (or a rather over-sized scarf) for my mother and having never knitted before I had no idea of how long something of my undertaking was suppose to take. But as I knitted I would just pull out the end I was working on leave the majority in its bag. TWO YEARS LATER, I kid you not, I pulled the whole thing out of the bag for my husband and I to revel over as it was done. OMG, it was hilarious….at the beginning the width was, oh, about 18 inches but the OTHER end, the one I had just finished working on, was like about four feet! I never laughed so hard! The best was when I pulled it out the same way when I finally was able to give it to my mom. Since then it has become the family joke. But as with moms mine will actually wear it!
