Feb. 25: Tiffany Blue Boxes
I guess I’m a fan…
During the Oscars last night, I made this project with some leftover pegboard and the Tiffany Blue Boxes I’ve been saving for a few years. I didn’t have the heart to throw them away, but I also didn’t have the heart to give them with gifts, either. What do you do when this happens? Make some damn art. This is a technique I cam up with for a housewarming gift, and it worked well here, just on a larger scale with the boxes.
I like pop art. I think it shows…

I am a fan of Tiffany boxes too (or perhaps just the color, it’s my favorite) - though not as much as you, evidently. However, I am a big fan of the pop sculpture you made. Great idea - use something you are saving for whatever reason as art.

What an inpsired idea! You should submit this to a magazine. Seriously. (I am a 30x quilt book author.)
Thanks so much! I kept them because I was trying to think of a way to recycle them since they’re such nice-quality boxes. I think a large piece of art was my decision
And Jodie, thanks for the idea! I think I will!
Many many years ago, in order to have something to hang on the Christmas tree, I took a bunch of little jewelry boxes, wrapped them, and tied them with crinkle ribbon — joining them in sets of two with the tied ribbon. These were always my son’s favorite ornaments - and when he was still living at home he would drape the pairs over the limbs of the tree so they would dangle, as if they had dropped from the ceiling and had been caught by the tree. We talked about them this year and he admitted that he still loved them very much, that there was something exciting and special about them. I would never have believed that little boxes could carry so much emotion.
How much are the smaller boxes like 3×3 or 3.5x 3.5 and how do I purchase?
Thx

Hi
How much would a box about 33 or 3.x3.5 cost? How could I purchase?
Thx,

I just called Tiffany’s to see if I could purchase a box large enough to be used as a card box for my daughters wedding, obviously, Tiffany blue is the color of the wedding. I was told I was not able to purchase a box even after I explained what I wanted it for. Any suggestions where I can get one?
Hey guys- Believe it or not, those are all boxes I saved from over the years. Tiffany will NOT sell boxes… I’ve tried. I even had to return something and didn’t have the box and got the third degree- I was amazed.
Have you guys checked out eBay at all?
How can I buy these boxes?
