Cork Serving Tray

Took an old wooden serving tray - painted it red - and covered the bottom with old wine corks.  I really had not realized how differently sized wine corks could be.  It was a bit more of a puzzle than I had expected.  The hot glue and pushing them in place helped some but there are still variations the result in little holes.

  • I saw this once hanging on a wall in a kitchen. I would worry that food might get stuck inbetween corks if you actually use it.

  • I am not expecting that to be a huge problem - but will have to wait and see.

While it obviously can’t be put in the dishwasher, It do intend to swish water through it for cleaning — the tray is no more fragile than a wooden salad bowl, and the corks are just indestructible.
