Day 15 - Struggling with perception - breakthrough!
I was reading at Kepler’s, thinking of mom on what would have been her 75th birthday, writing some poetry about her, and doing a Sudoku when I turned to look out the window…and sas a window across the way surrounded by bricks…and I remembered some gorgeous pen and watercolor wash work city scenes from thing-a-day, and decided to go for it. (Jason Das!! His work is awesome, but I gotta start somewhere, I guess.
I really struggled with the light, and overcoming my logical side to get to the spatial side. Made some progress:
Finally got the shading on the top, and underneath the top. The bottom’s not quite right, but it still felt like a breakthrough for me:
