Thing 20
Today’s thing is a little origami box - the photo didn’t work out too well, because the paper has a sheen to it and the flash didn’t like it. I might try another shot in natural light tomorrow.

You’ll be seeing a lot more of these, because my Tomoko Fuse books arrived! See:

I’m going to try some tomorrow with larger, nicer paper, but I wanted to try at least one out before I went to bed, and I just used the closest paper. This is one of the simpler designs in the books, and I might not move on to the harder ones until my folding gets a little more precise!

I have the yellow book and I just love it. There are some lovely boxes I have made from it and thee instructions are very good.
Hi,
Can you tell me what collapsing means and how to perform it when doing an origami project. I’ve just started teaching myself, and I can’t get it just by looking at the figures.
Thanks!
Collapsing usually means opening out the paper at an indicated point and then letting it fold in on itself in another direction, and flattening it out that way - it’s a bit hard to explain although I could show you! This page shows it pretty clearly: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-an-Origami-Bunny
You could try looking at some of the origami videos on YouTube, as well - sometimes it really helps to watch someone doing it!
