leica m8
i took some photos with my friends’ leica m8 camera today:
the camera is amazing… so impressive. i’d never used a rangefinder camera before—it takes some getting used to, but you get incredible sharpness and optics… the photos were taken at a farmer’s market, and yes, those are the real colors of the cauliflower. cool, huh? i don’t know what ‘bacon avocado’ are either—if they are meant to be eaten with bacon or if they have been somehow engineered to taste like bacon or what…

the cauliflower shot is amazing! so crisp and the colors look almost painted. i really like it.
nice pics! are those cauliflowers truly those colors?!
yeah, the camera is just amazing… i was so impressed. i’d never used a rangefinder camera before—takes some getting used to, but you get amazing sharpness and optics… the cauliflower were really those colors, i didn’t process the picture unusually or anything…
These photos are amazing! The colors, lighting, sharpness and DOF. I wish I had access to a camera like that. I fully never appreciated the difference a specific camera / lens can make. Your lomo camera post first opened my eyes to unusual cameras. I’ll need to look into rangefinder cameras. Last night I watched a documentary about Stanley Kubric and the Zeiss lens he borrowed from NASA to shoot Barry Lyndon. This is all fascinating. Keep up the good work and thanks for educating me.
